Granite Open Granite

Notes that stay yours, everywhere you work.

Granite keeps your notes as plain Markdown files, syncs them across your devices with full history, lets your team edit together live, and gives your AI tools a safe way to search them.

Everything you write, in files you own

Plain Markdown

Wikilinks, embeds, tags, and callouts in ordinary .md files. Import from Obsidian and Notion; export any vault as a zip at any time.

Sync with history

Every change is a version you can look back at and restore. Offline edits merge on reconnect, and real conflicts keep both copies instead of overwriting.

Live co-editing

Open a note together and see each other's cursors. If the network drops, you keep writing and everything merges when you are back.

Graph, backlinks, search

Find any note by words, phrases, or tags, follow links both ways, and see how your ideas connect.

Your AI tools, on your terms

Granite has no chat assistant of its own. Instead, Claude, Cursor, VS Code, and other tools connect through the Model Context Protocol, with the access you choose.

Built-in MCP server

Read, search, and (only if you allow it) edit notes. Remote for synced vaults, local for folders on your computer.

Knowledge base

Semantic and full-text search that returns passages with citations, filtered by what each person may see.

API, tokens, webhooks

Scripts and bots read and write notes through a documented API, and hear about changes through signed webhooks.

Built for teams

Workspaces

Shared vaults with roles, groups, and folder-level access. Guests can view and comment for free.

Single sign-on

SAML 2.0 and OpenID Connect with Google Workspace, Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, and others, plus SCIM provisioning.

Controls and audit

Security policies for two-step verification, session length, apps, and AI tools, and an audit log you can stream to your SIEM.
