Getting started

Create an account at app.granite.md, then create a vault: a folder of notes that syncs. Notes are Markdown; type [[ to link to another note and # for tags. Press Ctrl/⌘ + P for every command.

Sync and offline

Changes sync within seconds. Without a network you keep working; edits are saved on the device and sync when you are back. If two devices change the same lines, Granite keeps both: the other version is saved next to the note as a conflict copy.

Version history

Open a note's history from the command palette to see earlier versions and restore one. How far back you can go depends on your plan.

Sharing and workspaces

Business workspaces have shared vaults. Give people or groups access to a whole vault or one folder, as readers, commenters, editors, or admins. Publish a single note as a public link from the note's menu.

Live editing

When several people open the same note in a shared vault, it becomes live: you see each other's cursors and names. Click someone's avatar to follow them. If live editing is unavailable, the note keeps syncing normally.

AI tools

Connect Claude, Cursor, VS Code, and other tools through MCP. You choose what each tool may do and which vaults it may use. See Connect AI tools.

Import and export

Import an Obsidian vault (a zip) or a Notion export from the vault menu. Export a vault as plain files from Vault settings, or everything from Settings → Your data.

Deleting your account

Go to Settings → Your data → Delete account. Your account and personal vaults are deleted for good; backups are gone within 35 days. Transfer or delete workspaces you own with other members first.
